U.S. Veteran

LeRoy Franklin Lineweaver, 94, of Bridgewater, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Mt. Crawford on September 27, 1918, the son of the late Roy Franklin and Sallie Rebecca (Bowman) Lineweaver.

LeRoy was a retired poultry and livestock farmer and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bridgewater Church of the Brethren for over 70 years.

On August 24, 1941 he was united in marriage to Violet Julia (Craun) Lineweaver, who preceded him in death on December 16, 1997.

LeRoy is survived by two daughters, Sharon Kiracofe and husband Carson of Bridgewater; and Carole Jones and husband David of Aroda, VA. LeRoy is also survived by a sister, Mary Katherine Weaver of Bridgewater; a brother, Carl David Lineweaver and wife Ruth of Mt. Crawford; a daughter-in-law, Linda Wine and husband Doug of Dayton, six grandchildren, Amy Simmons and husband Joe, Jan Alley and husband Jon, Ryan Kiracofe and wife Heather, Todd Kiracofe and wife Leigh Ann, Megan Nunley and husband Anthony, and Lindsay Jones and fiancee' Bryan Coffey; eight great grandchildren, Abby and Anna Simmons, Carter and Caden Alley, Luke and Parker Nunley, and Chloe and Evan Kiracofe; one step great grandson, Noah Swift.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lineweaver, and two sisters, Grace Hollen and Effa Garber.

A memorial service will be conducted at Bridgewater Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jeffery Carr and Rev. Todd Lilley officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater. The family will also receive friends on Monday and Tuesday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at his home.
