Obituary for Carlton James (Buck) Alexander

Carlton James "Buck" Alexander, 71, of Crimora, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Hospice of the Piedmont Hospice House in Charlottesville.

Buck was born in Harrisonburg on February 5, 1946, and was a son of the late Helen Virginia (Rhodes) and James William Alexander.

He worked as a brick mason for C. Ray Davis and Nielsen Builders.

Buck is survived by his companion of twenty-six years, Beverly Moyers; two daughters, Amy Garrison and husband, John, of McGaheysville, and Carla Alexander and companion, Mike Brown, of Harrisonburg; a step-daughter, Vicki Holsinger and husband, Jeff, of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Geneva Shipe and husband, Keith, of Port Republic, and Judy Rosson and husband Herbert Sr., of Harrisonburg; sister-in-law, Deborah Lukacik; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by a brother, Carroll "Jerry" Alexander.

The family will receive from 6 until 7PM Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to aid in the expenses of a memorial marker, C/O Johnson Funeral Service, P.O. Box 41, Bridgewater, VA 22812.
