Obituary for Earl William Hartman

Earl William Hartman, 82, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Upper Tract, WV on January 25, 1935, and was a son of the late Charles Edward and Mary (Whetzel) Hartman.

Earl retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a member of Montezuma Church of the Brethren.

He was united in marriage on June 25, 1955 to Edith Grey (Wilfong) Hartman.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Patsy H. King and husband Daniel, of Staunton; a son, Mark A. Hartman and wife Tammy, of Dayton; two sisters, Thelma Harman, of Harrisonburg and Ruth Gibbs, of Timberville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ronnie Fulton, Donnie Fulton, Cody Hartman and Bethany Hartman; two great grandsons, Addison Fulton, and Parker Fulton.

He was preceded in death by son, Rodney William Hartman, two brothers, Glen Hartman and Albert Hartman, and six sisters, Marie Cook, Treva Halterman, Neva Ratliff, Arbutus Swick, Bertha Alexander, and Beulah Crites.

A funeral service will be held at Montezuma Church of the Brethren at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 with Pastor David R. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
