Obituary for Eunice Jean Pugh

Eunice Jean Pugh, 85, of Bridgewater, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at the Bridgewater Home.

She was born on November 8, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Pammy Blanch (Albright) and Boyd Edward Michael.

Eunice was a graduate of North River High School and attended business college in Harrisonburg. She had worked for National Geographic Service in Washington, DC, and for the US Forest Service for 15 years. She was a member of Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. She loved playing golf at Spotswood Country Club and spending time at the family cabin.

On September 13, 1952, she was united in marriage to Clyde Pugh, who preceded her in death.

Eunice is survived by two sons, Barry Pugh and wife, Susan, of Bridgewater, and Michael Pugh and wife, Barbara, of Bridgewater; two sisters, Margie Smith, of Bridgewater, and Willodene Booth, of Bridgewater; three grandchildren, Micah Branson and husband, Chad, John William Pugh and wife, Crystal, and Jessica Pugh; two step-grandchildren, Danny Rhodes, and Andrew Rhodes; two great-grandchildren, Leighton Branson and Corbin Branson.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Odie Michael and Roy Lynn Michael.

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Jeffrey Carr officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridgewater Retirement Community, 302 N. Second St., Bridgewater, VA 22812.
