Obituary for Gary D. "Danny" Cupp

Gary D. "Danny" Cupp, Sr., of Port Republic, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018. Mr. Cupp was born on May 4, 1944, and was preceded in death by his parents Golden and Ruby Cupp, a sister, Lois Coffman, and a brother, Gayle Cupp. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Showalter Cupp, and 2 sons, Gary Jr. (Crystal), and Jerry. He is also survived by siblings Jack Cupp and Carmen Good along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cupp retired from Rockingham Construction after 30 years as a high-voltage lineman. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, hanging out with friends and spending time at his mountain cabin.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes on Thursday, Aug. 2nd from 5:30 PM to 7 PM concluding with a Celebration of Life at 7 PM. Family and friends will also be received at Mary and Danny's home in Port Republic. Friends may visit the funeral home anytime to pay their respects and sign the guest register. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grottoes Rescue Squad and/or Fire Department.
