Obituary for Kay Ringgold Dove

Elizabeth Kay Dove, 58, of Rockingham Co., passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at her home, following a lengthy illness in which she let her kind spirit show through without a complaint.

She was born in Harrisonburg on October 30, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Sherly Warren Ringgold and Peggy Craun (Simmers) Ringgold.

Kay had worked at JC Penny and helped in the office at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. She was a member of Bridgewater Church of the Brethren. Kay graduated from Turner Ashby High School.

She is survived by her brother, Warren Ray Ringgold and wife Vickie, of Bridgewater; her special aunt, Carolyn Houff and husband Dwight, of Mt. Sidney; her niece and nephews, whom she adored, Cheyenne Ringgold, Colton Ringgold and Joshua Good; and a special friend Elizabeth Fleming.

She was preceded in death by a special friend, John Fleming.

A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Bridgewater at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 with Pastor Brad Houff officiating. Burial will be private.

Friends may call anytime Monday at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater and the family will receive friends following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association P.O. Box 78960 Phoenix, AZ 85062-8960.
