Obituary for Bramble Owen Davidson, Jr.

Bramble Owen Davidson, Jr., 83, of Elkton, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born in Norton, VA on October 7, 1934, and was a son of the late Bramble Owen, Sr. and Berniece (Hamilton) Davidson.

Bramble retired from the Department of Social Services for the State of Virginia with over 30 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army and the Virginia Army National Guard. He earned his Bachelors of Science from East Tennessee State University.

He was united in marriage on May 1, 1954 to Greta Christine (Varner) Davidson, who preceded him in death on October 30, 2005.

He is survived by five children, Bramble Owen Davidson, III and wife Kathy, of Abbs Valley, Gregg Allen Davidson and wife Dana, of Roanoke, Jill Davidson Armstrong and husband Andy, of Elkton, Douglas Randolph Davidson and wife Michelle, of Elkton, and Billy Warren Davidson and wife Tina, of Harrisonburg. Eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Davidson.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes with Rev. Wayne Wright and Bramble Davidson, III officiating.
