Obituary for Charles Monroe Cline, Sr.

Charles Monroe Cline, Sr., 91, passed away on January 3, 2019.He was born in New Hope, VA and was the son of the late Rufus and Mildred (Kerr) Cline.Mr. Cline was a life-long dairy farmer, sang for many years with the Rockingham Male Chorus, was a former member of the New Hope Ruritans.  In 1945 he went to Greece with Heifer International’s Sea Going Cowboys.He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dolores Glick Cline, his children, Charlann (Steve) Johns, Charles M. Cline, Jr., and Samuel (Debbie) Cline and Sharon (Dennis) Davis, sisters, Emma Jean Shiflett and Janet Weller;   five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Cline and sister Josephine Shiflett.A graveside service will be held at Middle River Church of the Brethren cemetery, on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Rev Ron Wyrick officiating.Friends may visit at his home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
