Obituary for Thelma Jean Lam

Thelma Jean Lam, 78, of Harrisonburg, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Curis in Harrisonburg.

Thelma was born in Rockingham County on December 30, 1939, a daughter of the late Lurty and Mary Frances (Newman) Miller.

She worked as a bookkeeper and loved ceramics, cake decorating, and traveling. She was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Hinton.

On June 16,1962, she was united in marriage to Robert Adams Lam, who preceded her in death.

Thelma is survived by two daughters; Patricia Lam of Herndon, and Karen Lam and husband, Keith, of Staunton; sister, Ann Miller and husband, Tom, of Montezuma; niece, Melissa Miller of Montezuma; brother, Norlyn Miller and wife, Betty, of Spring Creek.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church, with Pastor Isaac Harper officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 6 PM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the home of Ann and Tom Miller. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 30 W Gude Dr., Suite 150, Rockville, MD 20850.
