Obituary for Earl Reynolds Waggy

Earl Reynolds Waggy passed away March 7, 2018 at Sentara RMH Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1938 in Reeds Creek, WV, the son of the late Mason Waggy and Tressie Waggy Bridges.

He served in the US Army for 2 years, stationed in Germany. He attended Victory Fellowship Church. He was employed at V-DOT for 30 years, 15 of those he served as Superintendent at the Mt. Crawford headquarters.

Earl's hobbies included camping, pitching horseshoes, playing golf and traveling out west.

On August 19, 1962 he married Patricia Shaver and they enjoyed 55 years together.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Stephen Waggy (Angela) of Bridgewater; brother Roy Waggy (Margaret) of Dayton; sisters Shirley Carr of Rockingham, Joan Ward (Kenny) of Harrisonburg, and Virginia Alworden (Cliff) of Cadillac, Michigan.

Earl was preceded in death by brother George Waggy and sister Evelyn W, Mongold.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 9th from 6pm to 8pm at Johnson Funeral
Service in Bridgewater.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Bridgewater Rescue Squad, PO Box 268, Bridgewater, VA 22812 and/or the Bridgewater Fire Department, 304 N Main Street, Bridgewater, VA 22812.
