Obituary for Douglas Keith McNett

Douglas Keith McNett, 72, of Bridgewater, was born on July 20, 1946 in Harrisonburg. He was the son of the late Roland Myers and Leah Elizabeth (Argenbright) McNett. He passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018.

He was a brick mason and farmer and raised Hereford cattle and turkeys. Doug served his country in the US Army in Vietnam, and was a Purple Heart recipient, and was a life member of the Collins-Hughes VFW post. He was an active member of Sangerville United Methodist Church.

He was united in marriage to Linda (Baylor) McNett, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Sarah McNett Kiracofe and husband, Jeremy, of Bridgewater, and two special grandchildren, Leah Elizabeth Kiracofe and Owen Vanlear Kiracofe.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Libby Wheeler.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bridgewater, with Pastor Gary Monroe officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the fellowship hall at Sangerville United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sangerville United Methodist Church, 2488 North River Rd., Bridgewater, VA 22812.

Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater is entrusted with arrangements.
